This new building, supported by the State of Illinois as a flagship center, is designed to be the new gateway to Argonne’s physics campus. This facility will accommodate the study of advanced physics for both Argonne-based and visiting national and international scientists.

An innovative, energy-saving, hybrid ventilation system employs mechanical ventilation/cooling and passive natural ventilation strategies with a design that promotes both wind-driven and stack-effect air movement to reduce overall energy usage. The design works with the climate, rather than against it, to create a healthier, more stimulating environment for occupants.
