Immobilia, an Icelandic developer, controls a 36,000 SF parcel of land in downtown Reykjavik. A local bank is a potential investor for the property’s development and is expected to occupy the building’s first two floors. OWP/P completed three design concepts to illustrate the impact that a 9-story building would have on the site.
Each design places the building stepped back from the property line at an angle, creating a plaza at the parcel’s corner. The transparent glass skin decreases the visual mass of the building and opens the building to the site.
