As the leader of the OWP/P | Cannon Design’s technical quality program, Geoff Walters is the force behind the office’s ongoing initiative to align the design and technical aspects of all projects. He promotes full collaboration across disciplines in driving technically proficient design. He has more than three decades of experience in crafting successful solutions spanning a range of project types that include the government, education, healthcare, corporate and civic markets.
His experience includes technical leadership for the Wauconda Area Public Library project, which won an AIA Chicago Distinguished Building Award and AWI Wood Design Award, as well as one of the first buildings in the country designed to incorporate principles of “Community Policing,” the City of Elgin Law Enforcement Facility. His contribution to Designing with Structural Steel: A Guide for Architects, published by the American Institute of Steel Construction provided the architectural perspective.
