One of the original online travel service providers, Orbitz emerged from the dot-com crash as a thriving company with a winning brand. To accommodate continuing growth, Orbitz relocated its headquarters on an aggressive schedule with the space ready for occupancy just seven months from the start of design.
The new space reflects the company’s energetic culture and appeals to its young staff. Inspired by both the sleek look of today’s computers and the less-obvious beauty of the wires and circuit boards inside, the design juxtaposes clean lines in its public reception and conferencing against raw work spaces with concrete floors, exposed building systems, and industrial finish materials.
