As the leader of OWP/P’s sustainable design group, Rand is a Senior Consultant in OWP/P's Consulting Group and works both as a LEED consultant and a project manager.
Rand serves as the program manager for USGBC’s LEED Core and Shell Pilot Program. He also created sustainable design guidelines for a $6.6 billion infrastructure upgrade and runway relocation at O’Hare International Airport. For the City of Chicago, Rand designed LEED silver prototypes for police stations; assisted with the Chicago Public Schools Standards for all new school construction; designed the Green Permits Program; and managed the Chicago Green Homes Program. Some other project experience that has earned, or is expected to earn, LEED certification includes Prentice Women’s Hospital, a regional headquarters for Aramark Corporation, and an interior consolidation of the headquarters for Chicago Transit Authority.
Rand has a Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago following a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from UCLA.
