With a competition natatorium, gymnasium and fitness center, this new athletic center provides a needed new center for student activity at the University of Chicago. This new major athletic center features an expressive cable-supported structure on the exterior of the building, opening the interior spaces for free movement and easy access to natural light.
Amenities for students, faculty and staff include a 24,700 square foot competition natatorium with a 50-meter, nine lane pool with seating capacity for 350 spectators; and a separate 19,600 square foot gymnasium, with seating capacity for 2000 spectators, one full-size competition basketball and volleyball court, and two full-size recreational courts.
