Pursuing LEED Gold
Veolia Environnement, the world’s largest environmental services company, selected Chicago as its new North American headquarters for the company’s four operational groups, focused on water services and technologies, waste services, energy and facility management, and passenger transportation.
Veolia Environnement North America's President and CEO saw the new space as an integral part of the company's bid for the U.S. market. OWP/P designed an environment that encouraged communication between the four operating groups. Numerous casual encounter areas and a cafe, dubbed the Agora, help to reinforce the CEO's vision of collaboration between the groups, which ultimately will enhance their ability to cross market. As a company, Veolia Environnement is devoted to preserving the environment, and this executive headquarters had to reflect their commitment. The project is pursuing LEED CI Gold, and it was a true collaboration between client and designer.
